This beer house fronted onto Station Road with Crook Lane running down the side, seen here. Tied to the owners E S Woolf of Sandbach the premises was occupied by Richard Adams. The back entrance was used by the public. as well as the front, so there was not much privacy for the family apart from upstairs. Understandably there were “no beds or accommodation for supplying refreshments other than for drinking purposes”. The house was a casualty of the 1919 shake up of licencing laws. It later became Cyril Goodier`s electrical shop, but the entire block has now been demolished.
