Title of Talk: THE FALKLAND WAR THROUGH THE EYES OF A COMBAT MEDIC FROM WINSFORD

Tom will relate his harrowing experiences as a combat medic in the extraordinary circumstances of the Falklands War when the medical teams were hampered by the loss of equipment on the ill-fated ship RFA Sir Galahad. The ship of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, was bombed by the Argentinian air force resulting in a fireball that engulfed the ship which cost the lives of 32 Welsh Guards, eleven other soldiers, five civilian crew and tonnes of medical supplies and equipment.
